Description:

This Tulip vase, designed by Nils Landberg for Orrefors in the 1950s, is a refined example of Scandinavian vintage design in art glass. Hand-blown in a delicate plum tone, the vase rises from a flared, almost liquid-looking base into an impossibly slender stem that supports the elongated tulip-shaped body. The continuous silhouette and extreme lightness of the crystal demonstrate Landberg’s mastery of proportion and balance, qualities that have made his work a benchmark of Swedish modernism.

Signed on the base, this Orrefors vase embodies the clarity and restraint that define mid century Scandinavian design. The softly tinted glass catches the light in subtle gradients, giving the piece both sculptural presence and a sense of quiet delicacy.
