Modernity returns to PAD London in Berkeley Square from 14–19 October 2025.
We are delighted to present a carefully curated selection of Nordic design, featuring outstanding works by Finn Juhl, Frits Henningsen, Poul Henningsen, and other masters of twentieth-century Scandinavian craftsmanship.
Among the highlights is a remarkable pair of wingback chairs by Frits Henningsen. Produced in a limited edition of only fifty examples, these chairs represent the pinnacle of Henningsen’s refined approach to comfort and form—each crafted with his characteristic precision and elegance.
Another key piece is the Dining table model no. FJ 44, designed by Finn Juhl for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild exhibition and made by Niels Vodder. This particular table holds exceptional provenance, having long been part of Finn Juhl’s own collection—a rare opportunity to encounter a work so intimately connected to the designer’s personal life and creative legacy.
Complementing the table is a set of six “Egyptian” dining chairs, also designed by Finn Juhl for Niels Vodder in 1949. Inspired by ancient forms yet executed with distinctly modern sensitivity, these chairs remain one of Juhl’s most enduring and sculptural designs.
Adding to the selection is a beautiful PH 4/4 lamp, hand-painted by Axel Salto, whose expressive, organic brushwork transforms Poul Henningsen’s iconic lighting design into a unique work of art.
These rare and important pieces will be shown alongside a selection of exceptional works that together reflect the depth, craftsmanship, and poetic sensibility of Nordic modernism.
Modernity will be exhibiting at PAD London 2025 in Berkeley Square, and we warmly invite you to visit our stand. Whether you are discovering the fair for the first time or returning as a long-time friend, we look forward to welcoming you and sharing the stories behind these remarkable works.
